RESIDENTIAL

We have a long and varied track record in the field of residential development, ranging from schemes for single plots, to very large schemes.
Many of these larger projects have involved redevelopment of existing Listed buildings as residential use in tandem with bespoke-designed new-build properties on sites located across the country.
Smaller projects have included ‘back-garden’ developments, the creation of two or three new units from a single dwelling plot, or the development of flats in schemes of various scales.
We also work on individual houses and plots, some of these smaller projects are illustrated in the Small Works section of the website.

We believe that we create good designs, developed in tandem with an understanding of land values and the ability to maximise the value of a site at whatever scale.

Goring House

This is a Planning scheme for an infill development of a large single house on a site in Goring-on-Thames in the Goring Gap.
The site is a sensitive one and positioned on a road originally developed in Edwardian times with large houses occupying equally large plots. The scheme is to develop a new house in the original garden.
Our design is traditional in essence but with a contemporary flavour and is a seven–bedroomed scheme with associated garaging. The site is surrounded by trees protected by Tree Preservation Orders and so the design was carefully developed in reflection of these limitations; a new site access was negotiated in tandem with the arboriculturalists, David Archer Associates.

This is a large town centre scheme in the centre of Reading, a new-build Planning scheme for 96 flats with associated parking.
The scheme is of modern design, maximising its presence on a prominent corner junction in the town and tempered to sit comfortably adjacent to smaller historic properties to the rear of the plot.
The scheme was developed in discussion with Reading Borough Council Planning department for a group of private Reading developers who took out an ‘Option’ on property to create the land assembly.
The site is currently under development.

Ashley Road, Walton-on-Thames

The design for a new development of flats is for a planning application by Crest Homes.
We used hand-drawings in this case to create a softer presentation of the scheme.
The designs are intended to be attractive and to maximise the value of the site.

The site concerned was originally a single dwelling.
Planning Consent had already been granted for replacement of the original house with two smaller dwellings.
The developer commissioned us to examine the potential for uplift in the value of the site following purchase.
Our Planning scheme illustrated is for seven, two-bedroom flats designed to reflect the scale and massing of the approved scheme for two houses already in place.
